Stanford Li Ka Shing Learning and Knowledge Center (room LK 130). 291 Campus Drive 94305Dr. Capasso went to medical school and has done his residency program in his native Brazil, and further continued his residency and fellowship programs in the U.S. He has published and reviewed book chapters, articles and original papers in high profile peer-reviewed journals, and has been an investigator on imaging and endoscopic modalities. The global recognition of his work is often associated with one of his favorite tasks: lecturing and trading knowledge nationally and internationally about healthcare deficiencies and opportunities.
His initial involvement with the Stanford University Biodesign program began as a fellowship mentor with pre-clinical focus and led to the development of projects in the Bay Area and in Singapore. Being part of the med-tech ecosystem in Silicon Valley, he has been involved as a co-founder, consultant or advisor for start-ups, well-established companies and investors, with roles including identification and development of new concepts, clinical studies, structuring and diligence.
