Join AIMS' upcoming event to learn more about “regulatory affairs” (RA) and discover career opportunities with an RA professional, in a FACE to FACE interaction. The next RA position for you may be just around the corner.
RA professionals are in high demand nowadays. Almost every pharma company needs to gain market approval of medicinal products by the authority agency (FDA in the US) and to remain in good standing post-approval. Academic institutions also need to write and maintain Investigational New Drug Applications (INDs) before and during a clinical trial. Most RA positions require prior experience working in related fields (e.g., research and development, quality or a clinical profession). However, candidates with advanced degrees are favored, as many skills gained through PhD and postdoctoral training are transferrable to an RA position. ---
Leslie Cruz, a former Stanford postdoc and now a regulatory affairs specialist, will share with you what it takes to transition out of academic research into an "alternative" scientific career path, and the important decisions she had to make along the way.
