When Dr. Linda Narhi first started at Amgen, "everything was R&D, because we didn’t even know if you could make a protein and use it as a drug.” As such products became a reality, process development became increasingly important. In this talk, Dr. Narhi reveals the roles and responsibilities of scientists working in PD, and the broader scientific vision it can bring.

When Dr. Linda Narhi first started at Amgen, the only protein that had been used as a pharmaceutical was insulin, which was a special case. “Back then, everything was R&D,” she says, “because we didn’t even know if you could make a protein and use it as a drug.” Indeed, you could, and as such products became a reality, process development became increasingly important. “Even though that’s the later half of making drugs, there’s still a lot of research there,” she explained in a talk on June 24th. Dr. Narhi revealed to members of AIMS the roles and responsibilities of scientists working in PD, and the broader scientific vision it can bring you. Learn more about this career in industry in the video below.

Join us again Thursday, July 23rd, for the next AIMS event. Details coming soon!
