“So,” asks the title of Thorsten Melcher’s talk, “you want to be an entrepreneur…?”

The man knows a thing or two about it. Dr. Melcher has co-founded and held multiple roles at three different start-ups: AGY Therapeutics, EnVivo Pharmaceuticals and Saegis Pharmaceuticals. Scientifically, his experience ranges from neuroscience and oncology therapeutics, to diagnostics and early clinical development. More recently, Thorsten has worked with Varian Medical Systems, creating a spin-out company from there.

His current work at the head of New Ventures for Johnson & Johnson Innovation now sees him creating and facilitating collaborations with academia and biotech, both. He also guides the formation of new companies by entrepreneurs from within and outside J&J.

In short, a very interesting profile for Industry-Minded Stanford Professionals! Sign up here – we hope to see at you the event!
